What is NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing support for Australians with disability. The NDIS will ensure that people with disability are given every opportunity to make their own decisions and be able choose and control their support. Ourcare Services acknowledges the important role of families and carers and will include them in discussions about plans or support.
In the first instance call the NDIA – which is the agency who manages this program on 1800 800 110.
Your level of care is determined during the assessment. Your level of care will be reviewed regularly which may result in your being assessed as needing to move to a more appropriate level of care.
You are eligible for the NDIS if you:
- are under 65 when you make your application
- are an Australian Citizen or resident or permanent visa holder
- meet the disability or early intervention requirements.
Please note: people currently receiving specialist disability supports in NSW who meet the age and disability eligibility requirements for the NDIS will be able to access the NDIS in NSW, regardless of their residential or visa status.
